South Carolina Educational Television Commission
ETV's commissioners are appointed by the Governor to serve terms of six years. One commissioner is appointed from each Congressional district and one from the state at-large who serves as chairman. The Superintendent of Education serves as an ex-officio member of the Commission.

Anderson

In January 2004, Governor Mark Sanford appointed Robert M. Rainey of Anderson as Chairman of the South Carolina ETV Commission. Rainey is President of Foothills Community Foundation, a public charity serving Abbeville, Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens counties. From 1980 until 2001, he was an environmental consultant with RMT Inc. of Greenville. He is a graduate of Washington and Lee University and holds graduate degrees from Johns Hopkins University and Clemson University.

Active in community affairs, Rainey is a trustee of Anderson Area Medical Center and a director of the AnMed Health Foundation. He is President of the Blue Ridge Council, Boy Scouts of America, and also serves on the boards of the Salvation Army, Anderson County Arts Center Endowment, and State Museum Foundation. He is Vice Chairman of the Anderson College President’s Foundation Council.

He is married to Louise Weston of Columbia and they have three children.
