Gobeil will moderate a blog on the site, engaging teens and provoking thought and discussion on many of the issues facing the Palmetto State. Additionally, students statewide will be invited to participate in an interactive straw poll, read a brief history on voting, and learn about the statewide candidates and the voting process.
On Thursday, Nov. 2 at 1 p.m., ETV will present Project Discovery: Ready to Vote - Citizenship at Work. The LIVE call-in show will originate from ETV’s Rock Hill station, and will include a studio audience of Rock Hill-area high school students. On Sunday, Nov. 5 beginning at 5:30 a.m., ETV will broadcast the entire slate of debates and reports in a 14-hour marathon, giving viewers one more opportunity to make informed decisions on the candidates and issues.
On election night, Tuesday, Nov. 7 from 7 to 11 p.m., Gobeil will anchor The ETV and The State Newspaper Election Coverage, with updates from across the state.
ETV will make the debates and reports available to electronic and print media statewide, but asks that all stations credit ETV for the footage used in their newscasts. The programs may be accessed and recorded remotely through the following methods:
- A satellite feed on Digicypher channels 313 and 314 for television stations
- An audio bridge, allowing radio reporters to access clean audio of the debate by dialing (800) 438-5670. The phone line will be accessible 10 minutes prior to the start of each program
- News agencies must contact Dana McCullough at (803) 737-3212 to reserve a studio seat by noon on the day of the debate. An overflow audience will be seated in an adjoining room equipped with a television monitor
- Pool photography will be provided for each debate. Information on which agency will serve this function will be included in forthcoming releases for individual debates.
- Print and electronic reporters who have reserved a seat will be allowed in the studio during the broadcast, however they must remain for its duration. Only ETV's television cameras will be allowed in the studio during the actual broadcast
- Reporters will have access to the candidates in ETV’s studio lobby following the debate at the discretion of each candidate
- A mult-box will be set-up at ETV's Columbia studio for any electronic media that would like to capture the feed and also be on-hand after the debates for interviews
- A WiFi Hot Spot will be made available at ETV's Columbia studio for print media who would like to file stories from their laptops
