ETV and The State Newspaper Team Up to Provide Coverage of the 2006 Primary Runoff Contests
Columbia, SC…ETV and The State newspaper are joining forces to provide coverage of the 2006 Primary Runoff contests.
This programming will be broadcast LIVE on ETV’s 11 television stations and 7 radio stations (except for ETV’s all-jazz radio format in Rock Hill). It will also be streamed live over the Internet at www.myetv.org, and archived on the Web site for future viewing.
The first program, on Wednesday, June 21 at 7 p.m., will feature a 30-minute, exclusive, in-depth interview with Andre Bauer, Republican candidate for lieutenant governor.
On Thursday, June 22 at 7 p.m., the Republican candidates for State Treasurer’s Office, Thomas Ravenel and Jeff Willis, will debate the issues.
Both programs will be moderated by Andrew Gobeil, ETV's news and public affairs producer/host, and will take place at ETV’s Columbia studios, at 1041 George Rogers Blvd.
In addition to the live broadcasts, ETV will be providing a number of ways for electronic and print media to access and record the programming, including:
- A mult-box set-up at the ETV studios for any electronic media that would like to capture the feed and also be on-hand after the programs for interviews
- A satellite feed on Digicypher channels 309 and 322 for television stations
- An audio bridge, allowing radio reporters to access clean audio of the programs by dialing (800) 438-5670
- A WiFi Hot Spot in the studio and in the lobby for print media who would like to file stories from their laptops
ETV requests that news media adhere to the following guidelines:
- Stations credit ETV for the footage used in their newscasts
- News agencies must contact Rob Schaller at (803) 737-6556 to reserve a studio seat by noon on the day of the shows. An overflow audience will be seated in an adjoining room equipped with a television monitor
- Pool photography will be provided by The State
- Print and electronic reporters who have reserved a seat will be allowed in the studio during the broadcasts, however they must remain for its duration. Only ETV's TV cameras will be allowed in the studio during the actual broadcasts
- Reporters will have access to the candidates in ETV’s Murray studio following the programs at the discretion of each candidate
ETV is South Carolina’s statewide network with 11 television stations, eight radio stations and a closed-circuit educational telecommunications system in more than 2000 schools, colleges, businesses, and government agencies.
