The following are just a sampling of the teleconferences that ETV supplies for state agencies. The teleconferences allow state employees to receive valuable, and often mandated, training in their own communities helping to reduce travel and overtime costs.

  • Poll watchers all over the state participated in a series of six training programs delivered by teleconference to prepare them for the general election.
  • In cooperation with the Department of Natural Resources and the Clemson Extension Service, ETV provides hunter training mandated by law.
  • ETV provides training for foster parents who are undergoing the certification process reaching an average of 300 people per class all over the state.
  • Attorneys around the state take advantage of distance learning classes broadcast by ETV to remote sites to earn Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits.
  • Corrections officers received training at their work sites via teleconferences around the state for 39 cents per officer compared to the cost of traditional training at $250 per officer.
  • The Clemson Extension Service provides over 100 programs annually transmitted via satellite to Extension offices in every county.
  • The Department of Social Services used teleconferencing to discuss the agency's recent budget cuts and the possible impact on DSS employees.
  • ETV produced a teleconference for Trident Technical College that examined the North American Free Trade Agreement.
  • The US Justice Department and the Criminal Justice Academy participated in a two-day teleconference on child abuse.
  • Workers at the Department of Transportation were trained in the use of a sophisticated global positioning system which will enhance their surveying ability.
