Healthcare Educational Resources

Available via ETV Digital Satellite

ETV provides healthcare programming through its digital satellite to over 40 hospitals who have installed satellite dishes and receivers. The SC Department of Health and Environmental Control, USC School of Medicine, Medical University of Charleston, USC College of Nursing, USC Spartanburg College of Nursing, SC AHEC and other health care educational institutions provide programming (links to the previously mentioned colleges/institutions will be available soon). In addition, other college courses, both graduate and undergraduate, are available via digital satellite.

Grand Rounds

Internal Medicine Grand Rounds, sponsored by Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital and the USC School of Medicine, airs live on Thursday mornings from PRMH at 8:00 am. Pediatric Grand Rounds airs live on Friday mornings. These programs are approved for CME credit. Questions concerning CME credit can be addressed by calling the USC SOM at 803-434-4211.

State Agencies

The Department of Health and Environmental Control, the SC Department of Mental Health, the Department of Alcohol and other Abuse Services, SC Commission for the Blind, and The Department of Disabilities and Special Needs broadcast programming for the healthcare community.

Distance Learning 

All of South Carolina's 33 public and 18 independent colleges are equipped with satellite dishes to receive the expanded schedule of the distance learning (DL) programs from ETV. Further information is available about individual curriculum at the colleges websites.
