Satellite Receiver DSR-4200 Reauthorization Instructions

Please insure the following before attempting reauthorization procedure:

  • Your receiver is a DSR-4200, not a DSR-4200V
  • The cable from the satellite dish is connected to the K/V port on your receiver.
  • You are able to tune your receiver with the remote control and view the output of the receiver at the same time. This may mean moving a television to the receiver location. You must be watching the output channel of the receiver you wish to remap.
  • All satellite receivers which you DO NOT want to authorize have no red light on the front. If they do, press the SAT/TV switch on the front of receiver or remote control. (This will temporarily prevent the remote control from adjusting them. Remember to press the SAT/TV button again when you are finished with the remapping procedure and insure that the red light comes back on.)

You are now ready to begin reauthorization: **you may recognize the first several steps of this procedure if you have already tried remapping and were unsuccessful**

  1. Press the Options button on the remote control. SEE (Options screen)
  2. Press 3 "Customize Program Viewing." SEE (Customize viewing screen)
  3. Press 4 "Change your password." SEE (Change your password screen)
  4. Enter the number 996 and then press the Time button on the lower left of the remote control. SEE (Installation screen)
  5. On the INSTALLATION screen use the arrow buttons to scroll down to the bottom on the screen to Authorization. Click the RESET button. You will see (Please wait... This system is searching for a new Authorization stream.)
  6. After 30 seconds press GO BACK on remote control. If your audio is turned up, you should hear the audio pop when once reauthorization has taken place.
  7. To exit the Set Up menu, press the VIEW button on remote control.
  8. Your DSR-4200 should now be reauthorized. If the green signal light did not come back on, proceed to remapping procedure and try again.
