Wakesha Fogle
Wakesha has been an 8th grade math teacher at Elloree Elementary School since 2001. In 2002 she won an EIA grant focusing on incorporating technology into the mathematics classroom. She is also a Dynamic Classroom Assessment facilitator.
Wakesha earned a BS degree in Elementary Education from Claflin University and is currently studying for a master’s degree in Middle Level Math Education from Cambridge College in Massachusetts.
Kathy Creech Felder
Kathy teaches third grade science at Sheridan Elementary School in Orangeburg. She has been a member of the faculty for 13 years. Kathy earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina, a PBC in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in Elementary Education from SC State University. She has her National Board Certification as a Middle Childhood Generalist.
Kathy has been named OSWCD Conservation Teacher of the Year; PLT State Teacher of the Year; SC Conservation Teacher of the Year; Teacher of Year at Sheridan Elementary; and SC State University School of Education Educator of the Year.
Shannon
Fike
An educator for 24 years, Shannon is a Language Arts teacher for both academic and Occupational Diploma track students in grades 9-12 at the SC School for the Deaf and Blind. From 2000-2003, she acted as a Language Arts teacher for just students on the Occupational Diploma track.
Shannon also worked at SCSDB from 1984-1990 as a sign language instructor and staff development coordinator. Before moving to South Carolina, she worked for the SouthWest Collegiate Institute for the Deaf in Big Spring, Texas, and for East Carolina University as an educational interpreter. Prior to returning to the SCSDB faculty in 2000, she taught for ten years at Paul M. Dorman High School in Spartanburg, SC, where she was a resource teacher and an interpreter. While at Dorman, Shannon worked on a task force to select occupational diploma standards for an alternative diploma for non-academic students.
She received her bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education/Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and her master’s degree in Adult and Continuing Education from East Carolina University. She is also a certified interpreter for the deaf. Shannon has been a TRIAD Consortium Instructor since 2000 and a Cyber Mentor (Kent State Project) since 2002. She was a NTTI Master Teacher in 2003.
Lisa Frampton
Lisa has taught physical education and adapted physical education for the last 19 years in Greenville County. She has taken off the 1999-2000 school year to participate in the "Milken Educator on Loan" program, part of the State Department of Education's technology improvement initiative. Prior to this year, Lisa was a member of the faculty at Sara Collins Elementary School.
In 1991-92, Lisa was recognized as the South Carolina Physical Education Teacher of the Year, Greenville County Teacher of the Year, and the SC Parent Teacher Association Teacher of the Year. In 1994, she won the Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award. That same year she was recognized in Who's Who in American Education.
Lisa is a member of the SC Association
of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and
Dance. In the past, she has served as the state
representative for the Adapted Physical Education
division.
Sue Florence
A third-grade teacher at Sara Collins Elementary in Greenville, Sue earned her bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and her master of education in reading, with an endorsement as a reading specialist, from the University of Louisville, Kentucky. She has taken additional graduate courses in science education and integrating the Internet in curriculum at the University of South Carolina and Furman University.
Sue is part of the staff development program at Sara Collins and trains staff to integrate technology into their curriculum. In addition, she has developed a resource disk for other Sara Collins' teachers to use when integrating the Internet in their curriculum. She was a presenter on this topic with other Sara Collins' faculty at ED-TECH '98. She is part of a team of teachers who won an EIA Site Grant to develop the program "Technophobic to Technoliterate: Teacher Training." She was voted Sara Collins' "Teacher of the Year" in 1990, and her classroom has been showcased on SCETV's Brainwaves program.
