Lori Givens
Lori teaches 5th grade at Sandhills Intermediate School in Swansea. In addition she has been a science curriculum coach with the Math Science Unit for two years. She is a National Board Certified teacher and has been named Sandhills Intermediate School Teacher of the Year and Lexington 4 District Teacher of the Year. She is a member of SC Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the SC Science Council.
Lori earned her BS degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina Upstate. She also holds an additional 18 hours in post-graduate studies.
Rebecca Ginn
Rebecca is a Math Infused with Technology Coach at West Hardeeville School. Prior to this she taught 6th grade math at West Hardeeville and Ridgeland Middle School, 9th-12th grade math at Jasper County High School, and 4th grade at Allendale Primary School.
She has been a Techology Team Leader and mentor, served on the Math Textbooks Committee, is a Comprehensive School Reform member at West Hardeeville School, and a Making School Work member at Jasper High School. She is SASI trained and is an ADEPT evaluator. She was named Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year in 2000 by the Hardeeville Wal-Mart.
Rebecca was awarded a BS degree from the University of South Carolina in 1995. She earned her secondary mathematics certification in 2003. Rebecca holds a Master’s of Technology in Education from Lesley University.
LuAnn Shealy Graul
LuAnn currently serves as the Technology Coach for Dutch Fork Middle School. She taught 7 th grade math and Algebra I at Irmo High School—Campus I and at Dutch Fork Middle School for 12 years. Prior to this she taught at Busbee Elementary School in Wagner.
In 2001 LuAnn was named Teacher of the Year at Dutch Fork Middle School. She has been a mentor to first year teachers and served on the district Mathematics Leadership Team and on the SIC and PTSA Board. LuAnn earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master’s degree from the University of South Carolina.
Kate holds a master of education degree from the University
of Akron and earned her bachelor of science degree in
business education from Youngstown State University.
In addition she has earned National Board Certification
in technology. A teacher for the past 21 years, she is
currently on the faculty at Battery Creek High School
in Beaufort where she teaches technology. She is also
developing a cooperative business education program.
Kate has made presentations at local teacher workshops, the Ohio Prevention Conference, and the State Business Leaders Conference for high school students.
Sharon Glass
Certified in both middle school and secondary English, Sharon is in her 26th year of teaching and currently teaches ninth and tenth grade honors and gifted/talented students, 12th grade college preparatory, and ninth grade technical preparation. She is a member of the Palmetto State Teachers Association and the Cherokee County Reading Council. She has served as secretary/treasurer, vice president and president of the Cherokee County branch of the PSTA. As a member of the district's language arts curriculum team, Sharon helped to develop the English/language arts curriculum for grades 9-12. In 1991, she was chosen "Teacher of the Year" at Blacksburg High School.
She received her BA degree in secondary education from the University of South Carolina and her master's degree and her master's +30 in secondary education from USC-Spartanburg.
Erin Greiner
For the last two years, Erin has taught seventh-grade
math at Riverside Middle School in Greer. After graduating
from Presbyterian College with a bachelor of science degree
in 1998, Erin taught at Hughes Academy in Greenville. Active
in school sports, Erin coached the varsity volleyball team
at Riverside High School and currently coaches the girls'
C-Team basketball at Riverside High School.
Susan Gray
Susan is the media-technology specialist at Bethel Elementary, a national Blue Ribbon School in Greenville County. She is a State Executive Board member of the SC Association of School Librarians and AECT (the Association of Educational Communications and Technology). In addition, she has served as state chair of the SC Student Media Festival and has chaired the SC Video Workshop for Teachers. During the 1998-99 school year she was a finalist for SC Media Specialist of the Year.
Susan provides many hours of technology training for district teachers as an instructor at Roper Mountain Science Center. She is an adjunct faculty member in the Computer Technology Department at Greenville Technical College.
Pete Griffin
With 21 years in teaching, Pete is certified in English, social studies and guidance. Currently he teaches economics and government at Belton-Honea Path High School. In addition, he chairs the Social Studies Department. Pete earned a bachelor of arts degree in English and a master's degree in education in counseling from Clemson University. He is the past president of the SC Speech Communications Association.
Lauren Gay
Lauren is a pre-kindergarten teacher at the Fred P. Hamilton Career Center's Early Childhood Preschool in Seneca. She earned her bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Bridgewater State College in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, and her master of education from Cambridge College, Cambridge, Massachusetts. Prior to joining the faculty at the Hamilton Career Center's preschool, Lauren was a fourth-grade teacher at Port Royal Elementary in Port Royal, South Carolina, and a kindergarten and first-grade teacher at St. Helena Elementary on St. Helena Island.
In 1996, Lauren was named "Teacher of the Year" at Port Royal Elementary. In 1994, she was co-recipient of the "Outstanding Contribution to Education" award presented by the South Carolina Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development. She has been a presenter at the Enriching a Child's Literacy Environment Parenting Workshops for the Hamilton Career Center's Early Childhood Preschool program and was a member of the Beaufort County Reading Task Force.
