2006 Master Teachers.

Marie Ingram

Marie has taught second and third grade for four years at Petersburg Primary in Pageland, SC. Prior to that she taught first grade for 13 years in Phenix City, AL, and taught first and second grade for 12 years in Chamber County, AL.

Marie earned a BS degree in Elementary Education in 1977 from Auburn University. In 1986 she completed her MEd from Auburn University in Elementary Education and in 2004 added an Early Childhood Degree from Francis Marion University.

Presently she is a member of the Alabama Retirement Association and the Palmetto State Teacher Association. During the 2005-2006 school year she was named Teacher of the Year at Petersburg Primary. She is also IGPRO Coordinator for PPS.

Gaye IrickGaye Irick

Gaye teaches 1st grade science at Sheridan Elementary School in Orangeburg. She has taught in the Orangeburg School District for 24 years. She is the 2003-04 SC Association of Children’s Science president. She is a Kit-Based Science trainer. Gaye was a First Light Teacher Award winner in 2002, a 2001 STAR participant, and a 2001 Roper Mountain Science PLUS Institute participant.

Gaye earned her BA in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Carolina in 1980 and her MEd in Elementary Guidance from SC State University.

Pam IsbellPam Isbell

For the last 14 years, Pam has taught sixth-grade science at Bolling Springs Middle School. Pam holds a bachelor of science degree from Erskine College and a master's degree from Converse College. She serves on several committees for her school's SACS review. For the last two years, she served on a district evaluation TEAM and is a member of the team studying grade inflation and setting a grading policy for her district. Last summer, Pam attended Georgia Tech and took some training with PASCO, learning to use science probes and interfaces in the classroom. This technology has brought renewed excitement to her classroom.
