Rose Kebe
Rose teaches 7th grade math at Robert E. Howard Middle School in Orangeburg and chairs the Math Department. She’s been a member of the faculty since 1993. Rose’s honors include Intel Teach to the Future Master Teacher, An Exemplary Writing Award winner, and Palmetto Silver Award School. Rose is the Student Council Advisor, PTSA Treasurer, Yearbook Advisor, 7th grade trip coordinator and Local Education Association president.
Rose graduated Cum Laude from Claflin University in 1993. She holds a Masters in Technology in Education from Lesley University and is currently working on her Masters in Secondary Administration from Charleston Southern University.
Penny Kerns
Penny has taught second grade for five years at Petersburg Primary School in the Chesterfield School District. She has a degree in Elementary Education from Francis Marion University and is currently working on a Masters in Education in Curriculum and Technology.
Anne Knopf
Anne is the 4th grade Technology Coach for the Lee County School District. Prior to this she taught art at Bishopville Primary School. While teaching at Bishopville Primary, she became interested in technology. She found that many of the lessons implemented art across the curriculum with an emphasis on technology integration. She won the Ed-Tech Implementation Award for 2003-04 while at Bishopville Primary.
Anne holds a BA degree in Fine Arts from Converse College. She received her teacher certification through the Critical Needs Program at Coastal Carolina.
Brian Kennedy
Brian teaches 8th grade pre-Algebra math at Lady's Island
Middle School. He has taught for 14 years in public schools-eight years
in Pennsylvania, 1 year in North Carolina and five years in Beaufort.
He is involved with the Laptops for Learning program and has taught
a related arts class in laptop technology at Lady's Island Middle.
Brian graduated from West Chester University in Pennsylvania with a degree in special education. He earned his master of science degree from Villanova University in counseling with a specialization in community counseling.
Elizabeth Kelbaugh
Elizabeth teaches fifth grade math and science at Brookland-Cayce Grammar School #1 in West Columbia. She earned her bachelor of science degree and master's degree in elementary education from the University of South Carolina. In addition, she has her master's plus 30.
In 1994 she attended the Midlands Math and Science Hub Curriculum Leadership Institute, and for two summers trained at Roper Mountain Science Center. She has co-taught an "Elementary Quantitative Literacy" workshop for teachers through Clemson University. In 1998 she received a BellSouth mini-grant for an innovative classroom project utilizing technology.
Karenanne Koenig Karenanne teaches seventh and eighth-grade students in the Beaufort School District. Currently she is developing and implementing a multi-age curriculum targeted for sixth, seventh and eighth-grade students. The focus of the curriculum is the integration of science, math, technology and engineering. She is a facilitator for the Low Country Math and Science Hub and has provided workshops for the United States Space Foundation, teaching educators from across the nation how to integrate aerospace curriculum into the classroom.
Karenanne is a former exchange teacher to
Western Australia where she taught ninth and tenth-grade
mathematics. She has a bachelor of science degree in education
from Lesley College in Cambridge, MA, and a master's degree
in education management from Cambridge College, Cambridge,
MA. She also has special training in Accelerated Learning,
Learning Styles and Integrated Learning.
