Roots Musik Karamu ("karamu" is the Kiswahili word for "feast) centers on reggae music, but, also brings you the sounds of calypso, soca, blues, jazz, gospel, Juju, and other Afro-centered musical genres.
In addition to the music, host Osei Chandler offers Roots Rap (interviews with artists and other special guests) and RMK Community Bulletin Board. In the African Herbsman segment, herbalist Thom Williams explores the worlds of traditional and medicinal herb use. Roots Musik Karamu is produced at ARP Studio in Charleston.
