The Host & Associate Producer
Larry Klein is a native of Boston and grew up in Buffalo, New York. He attended Harvard University and received his MD degree at Dartmouth. He is a dermatologist and pathologist, having practiced medicine in Greensboro, North Carolina before coming to Columbia about ten years ago. He is Medical Director of Columbia Dermatopathology. In addition to hosting The Bluegrass Sound, he is an active member of IBMA and past president and a member of the Board of Directors of the SCBTMA.
He is married and has two sons. He plays the dobro, and has been a part of several local bands. He also plays most of the other bluegrass musical instruments.
