About Crime To Court
Crime to Court is a video-based training package for law enforcement personnel. For over 35 years, ETV, in cooperation with the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy, has produced the monthly programs.
The video, which runs about 30 minutes, is divided into two segments: legal and procedural. These segments may be viewed as one program or separately as individual "roll call" type programs.
The legal segment dramatizes and discusses current Supreme Court or federal court decisions which impact on the field of law enforcement. Both the re-enactment of the case and the courtroom scene give a clear understanding of the law of the case and other laws that might affect the performance of an officer's duties.
Through demonstrations of specific techniques and by role-playing scenarios, the procedural segment provides invaluable information for the officer in the field. The topics deal not only with techniques for job performance, but also with the officer's personal life as it may affect his job performance. The information is practical for use in the investigation and prosecution of lawbreakers.
You may order from our current listing of programs and specials or get a catalog of back issues and one-topic specials. The back issues cover the programming period, August 1987 - to the present. Specials are in-depth looks at specific topics presented on Crime to Court over the years.
The current programs are updated every other month.
